Villa Envy

Of course Luca Guadagnino’s house looks like this! It’s just like the New York Times eloquently stated, he is basically living inside one of his films! Luca directed Call Me by Your Name, one of my all time favourites. #noshame

Reasons Call Me By Your Name is one of my favourite films of all time:

70% visuals, 10% sound track 10% Timmy Chalamet, 5% Armie Hammer in short shorts  5% Michael Stuhlbarg’s monologue. In case you have yet to see the film, the visuals WILL make you drool. Delicious, warm Italian sunshine, hidden lakes, a beautiful old Italian town, sultry 80s fashion with an amazing palette of bright colours and the star of the show, a massive, airy, stunning 16th century house (I’ll have to do another post on it!). I could go on and on.

Anyways, back to Luca. Enjoy these photos of his 3,200 square foot apartment in Crema, 40 minutes from Milan. The apartment had been empty for 40 years before Luca bought it, so he did a complete renovation lasting 6 months. During that time he worked to peel back some of the layers discovering original terra cotta bricks and frescoes hidden under layers of wallpaper and paint. What a dream!
